Data is something we all worry about using up on our phones. Hence if you are using our site a lot for registering samples you might be curious as to how much data it is using. The most accurate way to track your data usage is with your phone app, but below is a guide based on an iPhone usage of the site where the site is cached and temporary files were not deleted each time.
- First-time use: downloading all the images, fonts etc to use the site – 12mb. These will generally be cached by your phone browser so you don’t have to download everything each time.
- Downloading a report: ~230kb
- Pre-registering a sample including creating a new asset: ~1mb.
Based on a small 4GB data plan with heavy use 20 days a month visiting the site for at least 2 hours a day, general browsing through lubewear.com, pre-registering 600 samples and downloading 600 pdf reports used approx 0.8GB of data or 20% of the smallest data plans you can buy with most phone networks. This is a lot of use considering 1 hour of YouTube HD content uses twice this amount at 1.65G and uses 41% of the allowance.
