What We Can and Can’t Delete
We want to clarify what data can be deleted and what must be retained for regulatory and operational purposes. While we can remove your identifiable information, such as your personal email addresses and full names, please note that analysis results and transaction records are integral to our operational integrity and cannot be deleted. This approach ensures that we can continue to deliver high-quality services while respecting your privacy. Moreover, if your work with us was on behalf of a company and you are not listed as a person of significant interest with >25% of the company, we would need permission of the company you were working for to anonymise your data (e.g. change an email address etc), so your request to delete your data in our services would have to go through your employer.
Anonymising Your Information
Upon your request, we will anonymise your data. This process involves removing any personal identifiers, effectively making the data anonymous. This means that while the data will still exist e.g. lab result data, it won’t be linked to you personally.
How to Request Data Deletion
If you wish to have your personal information removed from our databases, please follow these simple steps:
Web Deletion
- Contact Us: Click on the blue “Contact Us” button below. This will open up a new email to us to request deletion.
- Email from Linked Account: Send us an email from the address associated with your account. This is crucial as it helps us verify your identity and ensures the security of your data.
- Specify Your Request: In your email, clearly state that you are requesting the deletion of your personal information. Please specify from which platforms you’d like your information removed: LubeWear.com, OilAnalysisLab.com, LearnOilAnalysis.com, or all three.
Mobile App Data Deletion
In our iOS and Android apps you can request data deletion straight from within the app itself, pull out the side left menu, go to Logout / Manage Account and click delete account forever. Follow the instructions on the screen to delete your data.

To ensure a smooth process, please provide any relevant details that might help us locate your records swiftly. Our team will process your request and confirm once your data has been anonymised.
You need to be sure as the removal of information is permanent
This may seem obvious, but we recommend you take some time to confirm you want to delete the data that is identifiable to you as if e.g. you want to access results later or come back to us this will be problematic for you.

How long does deletion take?
It depends on how much you are engrained in our services and if e.g. it requires permission of the business you work for to proceed. Additionally, no data deletion can take place until your account is completely paid up to date with no outstanding monies owed. If there are any outstanding monies, then deletion could not take place until the end of the current VAT quarter so any transactions made by you can be placed through HMRC correctly for tax and legal purposes unaltered. For simple individuals who purchased a few samples to sample their car and paid by card then this is usually less than 2 weeks. If you have not heard back from us within 21 days from your request to confirm deletion please telephone the lab to confirm the estimated completion date of the removal.
